‘Game of Thrones’ Spin-Off ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms’ Set for Late 2025 Release

HBO’s upcoming series will adapt George R. R. Martin’s novellas, focusing on Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg in a lighter, episodic format.

HBO has confirmed that ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’ is targeting a late 2025 release, shifting from its initially expected summer debut.
The series is based on George R. R. Martin’s novellas set a century before ‘Game of Thrones,’ featuring Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg, a future Targaryen king.
Unlike its predecessors, the show will adopt an episodic storytelling style, potentially offering a lighter tone compared to ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘House of the Dragon.’
The cast includes Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan, with other key roles played by Dexter Sol Ansell, Finn Bennett, and Bertie Carvel as members of the Targaryen family.
The six-episode series is expected to help fill the gap until the return of ‘House of the Dragon’ Season 3, which is slated for 2026.
