Game of Thrones Creators Reveal Reasons Behind Rejecting 'House of the Dragon' and Scrapped 'Star Wars' Project

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are now focusing on their new series, 'The Three-Body Problem', following a series of setbacks and criticism.

Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss revealed in an interview that they turned down millions to be involved in the HBO prequel and spinoff 'House of the Dragon', stating that the strain of being attached to the project without being involved was not worth it.
The creators also disclosed their scrapped Star Wars project which was to be titled 'The First Jedi', focusing on the origins of the Jedi Order and the first lightsaber. However, Lucasfilm decided against their specific story idea.
Benioff and Weiss have moved on from these projects and are currently working on a new series, 'The Three-Body Problem', adapted from the novel of the same name by Chinese sci-fi writer Liu Cixin.
The creators have faced criticism and backlash for the controversial ending of Game of Thrones, and a string of failed projects following the series.
Despite the setbacks, Benioff and Weiss maintain their commitment to creating content that they believe is worth doing, even if not all projects work out.
