- Approval for FEMA, the CIA, the CDC, the FDA, the EPA and the IRS has fallen sharply since 2024, according to Gallup’s Sept. 2–16 survey.
- Several agencies now register at or near their lowest ratings in Gallup data dating to 2003.
- Republicans give the Department of Defense 74% approval and the Department of Homeland Security 73%.
- Among Democrats, only the U.S. Postal Service (66%) and NASA (52%) retain majority positive views, with the Postal Service the lone department not slipping since 2024.
- FEMA, the EPA and the CDC saw the steepest, bipartisan declines, and fewer than 35% rate the State Department, FAA, Justice Department, Federal Reserve or Veterans Affairs positively.
