• Xunta de Galicia formally approved the Medalla de Oro de Galicia for Princess Leonor in recognition of her year-long naval training and the royal household’s ties to the region.
• The award will be presented in Santiago de Compostela two days before Leonor’s commissioning ceremony at the Escuela Naval Militar de Marín.
• King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia are expected to attend alongside the Princess of Asturias.
• Leonor will join her grandfather, King Juan Carlos I—who received the same distinction in 1985—among the medal’s recipients.
• Other Medallas de Oro de Galicia honorees will be recognized separately on July 24 due to scheduling considerations.
