Galicia Names 17 Municipalities to Run 2026 Coastal Seasonal Services

The Xunta will accept electronic applications from other councils starting Nov. 17 in a first use of its new coastal-management role.

Overview

  • The Diario Oficial de Galicia listed ten councils in Pontevedra and seven in A Coruña opting for direct management in 2026: Baiona, Cangas, O Grove, A Guarda, Marín, Nigrán, Sanxenxo, Vigo, Vilaboa, Vilagarcía de Arousa, Cabanas, Dumbría, Miño, Oleiros, Porto do Son, Ribeira, and Valdoviño.
  • These councils must publish tender notices, set deadlines for bids, and carry out the full adjudication process for seasonal services and installations on the maritime‑terrestrial public domain.
  • For municipalities that did not assume management, applications must be submitted via the Xunta’s electronic office from 12:00 on Nov. 17 until Dec. 31, 2025.
  • In cases of competing requests for the same area, the order of submission will be considered unless proposals show greater public interest or utility.
  • Temporary events of up to 15 days on DPMT land must be requested at least one month before the planned date.
