Galaxy Blank Rapids 3-0 as Miller, Wynder Net First MLS Goals

The rotated Galaxy halted a four-match MLS skid before their Leagues Cup semifinal on Wednesday.

Overview

  • Harbor Miller scored in the 7th minute and Elijah Wynder added a 55th-minute finish for their first MLS goals, and Gabriel Pec capped the win in the 75th.
  • Goalkeeper JT Marcinkowski made his first MLS appearance since 2023 and recorded one save in his Galaxy debut after returning from knee surgery.
  • Coach Greg Vanney deployed a heavily rotated XI, then introduced Joseph Paintsil, Gabriel Pec and Marco Reus in the 64th minute, with Reus springing Pec for the third.
  • The victory ended LA’s four-game league winless run and was the club’s first MLS shutout since July 4, moving the Galaxy to 4-16-7 (19 points).
  • Colorado entered on back-to-back wins and had beaten LA 2-0 in June, but fell to 10-12-6 after Zack Steffen made two saves in Carson.
