Overview
- Union Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid the foundation for 19 national highway projects worth ₹4,137 crore in Odisha, covering 154 km across five districts.
- Projects include the four-laning of the Banarpal–Godibandha stretch, widening of NH-59’s Daringbadi Ghat section, and NH-10 from Mangalpur to Kayangola.
- The Centre granted approval for the ₹7,000 crore Capital Region Ring Road connecting Rameswaram in Khurda to Tangi in Cuttack, pending Cabinet clearance.
- A ₹1,200 crore six-lane upgrade of the Bhubaneswar–Puri road was also sanctioned to enhance connectivity in the region.
- Gadkari emphasized Odisha's ₹2 lakh crore infrastructure pipeline, with ₹60,000 crore completed, ₹60,000 crore ongoing, and ₹75,000 crore in advanced planning stages.
