The renewal comes after sexual assault allegations were made against creator and star Brian Jordan Alvarez by former collaborator Jon Ebeling, which Alvarez denies.
Ebeling alleges the incident occurred during the filming of a 2016 web series, though Alvarez maintains the encounter was consensual and has provided a 2018 recording to support his claim.
FX stated that it reviewed the allegations prior to the show’s launch but declined to comment further, citing no direct outreach from Ebeling to the network.
The first season of 'English Teacher' received critical acclaim and multiple award nominations, including at the Critics’ Choice and Independent Spirit Awards.
