FX and Hulu Release Trailer for Adaptation of "Shōgun", Set for Global Premiere in February 2024

Starring Hiroyuki Sanada, Cosmo Jarvis, and Anna Sawai, the TV adaptation of James Clavell's renowned novel, "Shōgun", will offer a unique narrative that embraces both European and Japanese perspectives on the events of the 1600s Japanese civil war; the series, set to premiere in February 2024, will air globally on Star+ and Disney+.

• FX and Hulu have released the trailer for the upcoming television adaptation of James Clavell's novel "Shōgun", featuring Hiroyuki Sanada as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, Cosmo Jarvis as Major John Blackthorne, and Anna Sawai as Toda Mariko.
• Unlike the original series from 1980, the forthcoming show also tells the story through Japanese perspectives, primarily from the characters of Toranga and Mariko.
• The 10-episode series set in 1600, focuses on a pivotal time in Japanese history, during a civil war, and explores the story of Lord Yoshii Toranaga who is fighting for his life against enemies united against him on the Council of Regents.
• The series takes an unexpected turn when a mysterious European ship, manned by John Blackthorne, is found near a fishing village, potentially tipping the scales in Toranaga's favor.
