Fuoco Seals Macau GT World Cup Pole With Qualifying Race Win

BoP enforcement reshuffled the order, penalizing Mortara, leaving Ferrari in control.

Overview

  • The new one-at-a-time Super Pole put Antonio Fuoco on top with a 2:15.535 lap that bettered the existing Macau GT benchmark before he led the Qualification Race flag to flag.
  • Ferrari locked out the front row as Yifei Ye followed Fuoco home, with Alessio Picariello third for Porsche and Raffaele Marciello fourth for BMW in a caution-free 12 laps.
  • Edoardo Mortara was dropped from third to tenth on the grid for exceeding BoP power limits in Super Pole and finished 16th after running into the Lisboa runoff on lap one.
  • Laurens Vanthoor’s Porsche was repaired after a heavy FP1 crash, but he reported lost performance, missed FP2, qualified outside Super Pole, and finished 11th in the qualifier.
  • In support action, Néstor Girolami won TCR Race 1 as Yann Ehrlacher secured the 2025 drivers’ title, with the GT World Cup Main Race set for Sunday in Macau.
