Overview
- Four people reported injuries consistent with an electric shock from a ride at Meadowbank Playing Fields on June 22 during the Atherton Carnival funfair.
- Two fire crews from Atherton and Hindley attended alongside Greater Manchester Police and paramedics to make the scene safe and close the ride to the public.
- Three of those injured were taken to hospital for treatment, with authorities confirming their injuries are not thought to be serious.
- Inspector Neil Anson has urged anyone who attended the funfair and now feels unwell to seek medical attention immediately.
- Carnival organisers and emergency services say all other attractions pose no known risk as inquiries into the incident continue.
