Overview

• Visitation for Officer Rivera is set for June 24 from 2 to 8 p.m. at Montclair-Lucania Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at noon on June 25 at Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park.
• Adrian Rucker faces charges of armed violence and illegal firearm possession after prosecutors cited body camera and security footage showing him pointing a rifle at officers.
• Rivera was shot unintentionally in the back by a fellow officer on June 5 during a foot pursuit in the Chatham neighborhood and died less than an hour later at the University of Chicago Medical Center
• The Chicago Police Department and the Civilian Office of Police Accountability are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances of Rivera’s death.
• A four-year CPD veteran and mother of a 10-year-old daughter, Rivera has been honored at prayer vigils and received support from colleagues and community members.
