  • The Police Benevolent Association confirmed the service will be held at Parkchester Jame Masjid on Thursday, with women-only viewing from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and men-only from 11 a.m. to noon, followed by a private prayer service and interment.
  • Islam was ambushed while working a private security detail in Midtown Manhattan on Monday and was one of five people killed by a gunman armed with an AR-15.
  • He was a three-and-a-half-year NYPD veteran assigned to the Baychester precinct and became the first officer of Bangladeshi descent to die in the line of duty.
  • His eight-months-pregnant wife and two young sons will attend the service as the community rallies to support his family.
  • A dignified transfer on Tuesday saw NYPD and FDNY members line FDR Drive to salute his casket en route to the mosque.
