Funcom Makes Dune: Awakening Endgame PvP Optional and Disables Hagga Basin PvP on Official Worlds

The shift signals a PvE-first pivot driven by player data showing most players avoid PvP.

Overview

  • Funcom said it will split the Deep Desert endgame into separate PvE-only and PvP instances on official Worlds.
  • The PvE instance removes player combat everywhere, including the Shipwrecks activity rows.
  • The PvP instance keeps open conflict and boosts spice and mining yields to 2.5 times the normal rate.
  • All PvP zones in Hagga Basin will be turned off on official Worlds when patch 1.3.20.0 goes live.
  • Funcom will soon test experimental self-hosted servers that require Windows 10 Pro with Hyper-V and at least 20 GB of RAM for small groups.
