Overview

  • Funcom is flagging portions of the Deep Desert as 'Partial Warfare (PvE)' zones where players can explore testing stations and harvest tier-6 resources without facing unwanted PvP threats.
  • Key endgame hotspots—including Landsraad control points, shipwreck sites and the largest spice fields—will remain high-risk PvP areas to preserve the core competitive challenge.
  • The Landsraad system is being overhauled with more varied tasks, improved pacing and micro-rewards designed to benefit solo players and small groups.
  • Developer Joel Bylos has ordered nerfs to scout ornithopters, new counters such as infantry rocket launchers, and adjustments to mechanics like respawn timers to bolster ground combat.
  • After selling over one million copies—making it Funcom’s fastest-selling title—Dune: Awakening is slated to launch on consoles in 2026.
