Fuel Tanker–Truck Head‑On on D’Aguilar Highway Kills Two Drivers

  • Emergency crews were called shortly before 6am to the D’Aguilar Highway at Nukku in the South Burnett, about 174km northwest of Brisbane.
  • The tanker driver, a man in his 50s, and the driver of the rigid transport truck, a man in his 30s, were declared dead at the scene.
  • A fire engulfed both vehicles after the collision and took about two hours for firefighters to extinguish.
  • The highway remains closed in both directions with traffic detoured and is expected to stay blocked for much of the day.
