Over 40 people have died after a fuel tanker crashed and exploded in Totota town, Liberia.
Many of the victims were locals who had rushed to the site to scoop fuel from the overturned tanker.
More than 83 people have been admitted to hospital for their injuries, with the more serious cases being transferred to hospitals in Monrovia.
The cause of the crash is still unclear, but poor road safety and weak infrastructure have made sub-Saharan Africa the world’s deadliest region for crashes.
