Fuel Prices Drop Slightly After Weeks of Increases
Diesel and gasoline prices in Germany see modest declines, though costs remain higher than in December.
- After six consecutive weeks of rising fuel costs, diesel prices in Germany have fallen by 2.1 cents per liter, while Super E10 gasoline has dropped by 0.7 cents per liter.
- The average price for a liter of diesel is now 1.678 euros, and Super E10 costs 1.739 euros per liter, according to ADAC's latest weekly analysis.
- The decline in fuel prices is attributed to a reduction in global crude oil prices, with Brent crude oil now trading around $76 per barrel, down from over $82 recently.
- Despite the recent price drop, fuel costs remain significantly higher than in mid-December, with Super E10 up by 8.4 cents per liter and diesel up by 9.2 cents.
- Motorists are advised to avoid refueling at highway service stations, where prices can be as much as 60 cents per liter higher than at regular stations.
