FSU Freshman Ethan Pritchard Leaves Rehab, Expected to Attend Saturday Home Game

Investigators call the August shooting a case of mistaken identity, with four suspects now charged with attempted murder.

Overview

  • Pritchard was released Thursday from Brooks Rehabilitation in Jacksonville after completing 34 days of intensive inpatient therapy and walked out to applause from family and staff.
  • He returned to Tallahassee on Friday to visit the team and is expected to be at Florida State’s final home game against Virginia Tech on Saturday.
  • In his first interview since the shooting, Pritchard said he initially could not move his right side but has regained movement and intends to work toward a return to football.
  • The shooting occurred Aug. 31 outside the Havana Heights Apartment in Havana, Florida, as he was driving family members home following FSU’s win over Alabama.
  • Three men — Jayden Bodison, Caron Miller and Germany Atkins — and an unnamed minor were arrested on three counts of attempted murder and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle, with Atkins also facing a probation-violation charge.
