FSA Recalls Hit Sainsbury's, TK Maxx and Morrisons Over Toxic Seeds and Undeclared Allergens

The FSA is overseeing withdrawals with guidance to return affected items for refunds.

Overview

  • Sainsbury's has withdrawn the Habitat Seed Pod Bowl Filler after warning the seeds are toxic to humans and animals if consumed, advising customers to bag and return the item for a full refund and not to dispose of it in compost or garden waste.
  • TJX Europe has recalled Les Florentins chocolat biscuits sold at TK Maxx and Homesense because they contain undeclared gluten, with affected flavours carrying best-before dates in June and July 2026 and eligible for a refund or replacement in-store.
  • The Jolly Hog has recalled Leek Porkers 6 British Sausages (400g, use by September 28, 2025) due to undeclared milk, affecting products sold only at Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Morrisons.
  • The Food Standards Agency has issued recall alerts this week and advises consumers with relevant allergies or intolerances not to eat the affected products and to return them to the point of purchase.
  • Sainsbury's says the decorative seed-pod product does not comply with the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, notes the outer casing is safe to handle, and confirms no other Habitat home items are affected.
