Fürstenfeldbruck Voters Approve Rerouting B2 out of City Center With 75% Backing

City leaders say the reclassification agreement is ready to sign, moving the project into implementation.

Overview

  • The binding referendum passed with 75.2% in favor of the council’s measure, with 12,159 valid ballots cast and the 5,443 quorum clearly surpassed.
  • The rival initiative to keep the B2 in the center was rejected, with 65.7% voting against it and the tie‑breaker favoring the council measure with 72.8%.
  • The B2 will be reclassified onto the existing western truck bypass via Oskar‑von‑Miller‑Straße, Fürstenfelder Straße and Äußere Schöngeisinger Straße toward the B471.
  • The structurally degraded Amperbrücke will be renovated rather than replaced, and Mayor Christian Götz says the reclassification agreement is prepared for signature.
  • Detailed traffic‑calming and redesign for the former corridor will be developed with citizen participation, and mail voting accounted for roughly 10,700 ballots.
