Fürstenfeldbruck Sets Jan. 18 Vote on B2 Reroute With Dual Ballot

The ballot presents a council proposal to shift traffic to the truck bypass versus a citizen plan to stop reclassification.

Overview

  • City councillors certified the citizen petition and, by 25–15, approved a counter measure, setting up two opposing questions for the referendum.
  • The council-backed question seeks to move the B2 out of the center onto the current HGV bypass via Oskar-von-Miller-, Fürstenfelder- and Äußere Schöngeisinger Straße.
  • The citizen initiative’s question asks the city to use all legal means to prevent reclassifying those streets as a federal road to avoid future bridge costs.
  • If both questions pass with at least 20% of eligible voters in favor, a statutory tie-break question will determine which decision prevails.
  • Mail-in ballots will be sent automatically with voter notices, in-person voting will be available at five locations, and the city will provide neutral information including a January forum and online updates.
