Frontier Airlines Faces Two Threats: Flight Crew Sickened by Strange Odor and Bomb Threat Received via AirDrop on Different Flight

Authorities find no evidence of poisonous gas or explosives; investigation ongoing for anonymous AirDrop bomb threat sender.

  • On a Frontier Airlines flight from Denver to San Antonio, crew members reported a 'strange odor,' resulting in emergency crews responding and the plane being evacuated on landing. The odor was isolated to the back of the plane and only affected four crew members.
  • Emergency services found no evidence of poisonous gas. All passengers who were on the flight deplaned and none required further treatment or evaluation.
  • In a separate incident on the same day, Flight 1571 from Baltimore to Atlanta received an anonymous bomb threat via AirDrop. The threat claimed there was an explosive device onboard.
  • The aircraft landed safely in Atlanta and all passengers disembarked and were sniffed by K-9 units before being bussed to the terminal. No evidence of an explosive device was found on the plane.
  • The FBI is conducting ongoing investigations to determine who made the bomb threat. Passengers expressed their upset over the situation, with calls for the responsible party to be found and penalized.
