FromSoftware Sets Sept. 11 Launch for Elden Ring: Nightreign’s ‘Deep of Night’ Hard Mode

The studio details depth-rated expeditions with stronger foes, exclusive relics, random bosses, plus an endless option at higher tiers.

Overview

  • Bandai Namco and FromSoftware confirmed the Deep of Night mode will go live on September 11, positioned as a high-difficulty expedition for veteran players.
  • Enemies are tougher throughout Limveld, players cannot choose which Nightlord they face, and Shifting Earth terrain changes do not apply in this mode.
  • Runs feature exclusive Depths Relics and new weapons that carry multiple added effects alongside built-in drawbacks.
  • A fluctuating depth rating tied to wins and losses governs progression, with a studio challenge to surpass Depth 3 before unlocking endless battles at Depths 4–5.
  • The mode first surfaced in datamines earlier in August, with reports that modders have already enabled aspects of it and shared early footage.
