From Sept. 1, Subte Rises to $1,071 as CABA and PBA Bus Minimums Hit $526–$529

The CPI-plus-2% indexation triggers the September update, with digital payment rollouts and limited-time reintegros helping cushion higher fares.

Overview

  • SBASE published fare tables that take effect Sept. 1, lifting the Buenos Aires Subte base to $1,071 and setting minimum bus fares at $526.13 in CABA and $529.25 in PBA.
  • The monthly CPI+2% mechanism has lifted 2025 bus fares by 41.43% in CABA and 42.27% in PBA through August, after a 3.8% rise last month.
  • AMBA lines under national jurisdiction will not change in September, with the minimum fare holding at $451.01 after a 7% increase in mid-July.
  • The ‘apertura SUBE’ expansion lets riders pay colectivos with contactless Visa/Mastercard, NFC phones or watches, QR, and physical or digital SUBE at the same rate as a registered SUBE, preserving local benefits and transfer discounts.
  • Visa’s Promo Buses runs through Sept. 30 with 100% reintegro via NFC wallets (monthly cap $10,000) or 35% with physical contactless Visa (cap $5,000), while BNA+ offers QR/contactless discounts with capped reintegros; in Santa Fe, a $1,580 flat fare awaits SUBE authorization and seven new buses were added to the fleet.
