Fritz Clinches Laver Cup as Team World Tops Europe 15-9 in San Francisco

Overview

  • Taylor Fritz sealed the title by defeating Alexander Zverev 6-3, 7-6 (4) in the final singles match to close out the 15-9 victory.
  • Carlos Alcaraz won the Day 3 doubles with Casper Ruud and then his singles match, trimming the deficit before Team World finished the job.
  • Fritz’s breakthrough over world No. 1 Alcaraz came on Day 2 in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, his first win against the Spaniard.
  • Alex de Minaur was pivotal with a 3-0 week, beating Zverev on Saturday, Mensik on Sunday, and teaming with Alex Michelsen for a doubles win.
  • Team World now owns three Laver Cup titles (2022, 2023, 2025), and the next edition is scheduled for London’s O2 Arena in 2026.
