• Police were told the individual was armed with a knife and had already harmed himself before officers arrived.
• A 31-year-old man was located in a wooded area on the north side of Frisco Commons Park.
• Officers say they issued verbal commands and used a less-lethal option before firing when the man advanced with a knife.
• Life-saving measures were provided and the man was transported by Frisco fire medics to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
