Overview

  • Police say 58-year-old Damon Wolfe called 911 about someone trying to kick in his door, then left his home and fired multiple rounds at a passing car late on July 28 in Frisco’s Sterling Ranch neighborhood.
  • Officers later found a vehicle with three bullet holes — two in the front and one in the rear — and the three teens admitted they were driving away from a random “ding dong ditch” prank.
  • Detectives canvassed the area, processed evidence and arrested Wolfe on Aug. 7 on three aggravated-assault counts, one for each occupant.
  • Wolfe was released on a $30,000 bond and, if convicted, faces up to 20 years in prison under the second-degree felony charges.
  • Chief David Shilson said the gunfire went beyond lawful defense and noted the teens will not face charges, using the case to urge parents to warn children about viral challenges.
