Frigidaire Mini-Fridge Recall Expands to 964,000 After Fire Reports

The latest action adds Target’s EFMIS121 model after six fire reports.

Overview

  • The expansion covers about 330,000 red six-can units, model EFMIS121, sold exclusively at Target for about $30 from 2020 through 2023 with serial numbers A2001–A2310.
  • The Consumer Product Safety Commission says internal electrical components can short-circuit and ignite the plastic housing, creating fire and burn hazards.
  • Curtis International has received at least six reports of EFMIS121 units catching fire with property damage, with no injuries reported for this model.
  • The July 2024 recall of about 634,000 other Frigidaire models logged 26 incidents and two smoke-inhalation injuries, with more than $700,000 in property damage.
  • Owners should stop using the products, unplug and cut the power cord, label the door “recall,” dispose of the unit per local rules, and request a refund at recallrtr.com/minifridge.
