Overview
- Frieze House Seoul opened in Yaksu‑dong inside a renovated 1988 residence, debuting with UnHouse, a Jae Seok Kim–curated exhibition exploring the idea of home through queer perspectives.
- The landscaped garden features a permanent site-specific installation by SANAA with aluminum and stainless steel seating that channels floral forms and gathers rainwater.
- Frieze has moved its local offices into the house and, after UnHouse closes on October 2, will configure the site into two rentable exhibition spaces plus a gravel area for sculpture and noncommercial programs.
- Frieze Seoul 2025 is underway at COEX with more than 120 galleries and strong early sales, including Hauser & Wirth placing a new Mark Bradford triptych for US$4.5 million to an Asian collector.
- This year’s edition shows an expanded presence of Asian galleries and a wider citywide program with museum and satellite shows, as Kiaf Seoul runs in parallel through Sunday.
