Overview
- Frieze House Seoul opened on September 2 to establish a permanent presence in the city, concurrent with Frieze Seoul 2025, and Frieze has relocated its offices to the site.
- The inaugural exhibition, UnHouse, curated by Jae Seok Kim, reimagines the home through queer perspectives with works by artists including Anne Imhof and Catherine Opie.
- A permanent garden installation by SANAA features aluminum and stainless steel seating that collects rainwater and responds to the renovated home’s landscaping.
- When UnHouse closes on October 2, the venue will be divided into two gallery spaces of roughly 860 and 1,500 square feet, with an additional gravel area reserved for sculpture.
- Programming will encompass architecture, film, fashion, music events and educational talks, with the site available for gallery selling shows and noncommercial exhibitions by curators, biennials and select government cultural bodies.
