Overview

  • The recall was issued June 17 after Listeria monocytogenes sickened 17 people in 13 states, causing three deaths plus a fetal loss.
  • FSIS found the outbreak strain in a routine March sample of FreshRealm’s chicken fettuccine Alfredo.
  • The recall covers Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo in 12.3-oz and 32.8-oz trays plus Home Chef Heat & Eat Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo in 12.5-oz trays with best-by dates through June 27.
  • Consumers should discard or return any affected trays bearing USDA establishment numbers P-50784, P-47770 or P-47718.
  • FSIS is working with public health partners to identify the contamination source and urges high-risk groups with symptoms to seek medical care.
