Overview

  • The voluntary recall covers three ready-to-eat chicken fettuccine Alfredo meals sold under Walmart’s Marketside and Kroger’s Home Chef brands nationwide
  • Affected items include 32.8-oz and 12.3-oz Marketside trays with best-by dates on or before June 27 and June 26, 2025, and 12.5-oz Home Chef trays with a best-by date on or before June 19, 2025
  • Since August 2024, the outbreak strain has sickened 17 people across 13 states and been linked to three deaths and one fetal loss
  • The CDC, FDA and USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service are collaborating on an ongoing investigation into potential contamination at FreshRealm facilities and through external ingredients
  • Consumers who purchased the recalled meals are urged not to consume them and should discard or return the products to the place of purchase for a refund
