Overview

  • Seventeen people in 13 states have fallen ill in the outbreak, which has resulted in three deaths and one fetal loss between August 2024 and May 2025.
  • FreshRealm’s voluntary recall covers Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo trays (12.3-oz. and 32.8-oz.) and Home Chef Heat & Eat Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo (12.5-oz.) with best-by dates on or before June 26, 27 and 19, respectively.
  • The listeria strain linked to patient samples was also identified in a routine FSIS test at a FreshRealm facility in March 2025.
  • USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have not yet pinpointed the contamination source and continue their investigation.
  • Consumers who purchased the recalled products should throw them away or return them for a refund to prevent further risk of listeriosis.
