Overview

  • As of June 17, the outbreak of Listeria monocytogenes has sickened 17 people in 13 states and caused three deaths plus one fetal loss.
  • FreshRealm voluntarily recalled all chicken fettuccine alfredo meals produced before June 17 sold under Walmart’s Marketside and Kroger’s Home Chef brands.
  • Products include 32.8-oz. and 12.3-oz. Marketside Grilled Chicken Alfredo trays with best-by dates of June 27 and June 26, and 12.5-oz. Home Chef trays with a June 19 best-by date.
  • The recall follows routine FSIS testing in March that isolated the outbreak strain in a chicken alfredo sample, matching patient isolates from August 2024 through May 2025.
  • Consumers are urged to discard or return recalled meals immediately as investigators work to identify the contamination source.
