Fresh Light Snow in Himachal’s High Reaches as IMD Forecasts Dry Spell

Sub-zero readings at Tabo, Kukumseri and Keylong precede a short dry spell with cooler nights.

  • IMD reported very light to trace snowfall in Lahaul and Spiti, the higher reaches of Kinnaur and Kullu, and nearby mountain passes over the past 24 hours.
  • Trace snowfall was observed at Keylong and Kukumseri, and locals expressed hope the early flurry will boost winter tourism.
  • Minimum temperatures dipped to −2.2°C at Tabo, −1.8°C at Kukumseri and −0.4°C at Keylong, according to the weather office.
  • Lower and mid-hill stations recorded light rain, including Kothi 7 mm, Sangla 6.2 mm, Brahmani 4.2 mm, Kalpa 3.6 mm and Manali 2.0 mm.
  • The IMD expects dry weather from November 6 to 11 with minimum temperatures likely to fall by 2–4°C in the next few days before a gradual rise.
