Fresh Bomb-Threat Emails Target Rajasthan High Court and Kota Sites as Searches Find No Explosives

Investigators say the messages were routed through foreign VPNs, complicating efforts to trace the sender.

The Kota district collector’s official email received a threat at 7:20 a.m., leading to evacuations at the collectorate in Nayapura and Shikhar Coaching Centre in Jawahar Nagar.
Multiple agencies, including fire services, NDRF, SDRF, police, dog squads and the Army, carried out anti-sabotage checks, and work resumed at the Kota locations by afternoon.
A separate email to the Rajasthan High Court triggered a full evacuation and suspension of proceedings, and searches found no suspicious objects.
Monday’s alerts follow threats reported December 3–5, making at least the fourth such scare in a week and part of a six-week pattern targeting courts and government offices.
Kota officials said one email claimed the sender was in Kerala, and the Home Department has brought in central investigators and cyber-forensics teams to track the VPN-routed emails.
