  • Chhattisgarh police said 10 Maoists were killed in Gariaband, including Central Committee member Modem Balakrishna, with 10 weapons seized such as AK-47s, SLRs and INSAS rifles.
  • Officials noted Balakrishna faced 18 cases, including the killings of former Andhra Pradesh home minister A. Madhava Reddy and DIG K. S. Vyas, and that the group slain carried bounties totaling Rs 5.22 crore.
