French Reporter Killed by Rocket Fire While Covering War in Eastern Ukraine

Arman Soldin, a video journalist working for Agence France-Presse, was killed by rocket fire while reporting near the city of Bakhmut.
Soldin was embedded with Ukrainian troops when their group came under fire from Russian Grad rockets.
Soldin was the first AFP journalist sent to Ukraine after Russia invaded and regularly traveled to the front lines.
Soldin's death brings the total number of journalists killed in Ukraine since 2022 to at least 16.
Leaders around the world paid tribute to Soldin and called for investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
