French Investigators Raid Headquarters of 2024 Paris Olympic Organizers Amid Corruption Probe

French investigators searched the headquarters of Paris Olympic organizers in a probe into suspected corruption related to contracts for the 2024 Olympics.
The searches were linked to two preliminary investigations opened in 2017 and 2022 into embezzlement, favoritism and conflict of interest regarding contracts awarded by Paris organizers and SOLIDEO.
Corruption allegations have marred multiple recent Olympic Games, including Tokyo 2020 and Rio 2016.
The Paris Olympics are scheduled to open on July 26, 2024, just over a year from now.
The raids took place as the International Olympic Committee's executive board met in Switzerland.
