Mathias Lessort, a key player for Panathinaikos and the French national team, fractured his left fibula during a EuroLeague game against Vitoria on December 19, 2024.
The 29-year-old sustained the injury while attempting to catch a pass early in the third quarter, collapsing in visible pain and leaving the court with assistance.
Lessort underwent successful surgery in Athens on December 20, but the estimated recovery time of four months has not been officially confirmed by the team.
As a silver medalist with France at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Lessort has been a pivotal figure in both international and club competitions, including Panathinaikos' 2023-2024 EuroLeague title run.
