Overview
- Over 530,000 general and technological stream students began the Grand Oral on June 23 to conclude their terminale assessments.
- The exam evaluates public speaking, structured argumentation and mastery of two student-selected specialty subjects.
- Each candidate prepares two questions with teachers, the jury selects one, and the student has 20 minutes to prepare before a 10-minute presentation and a 10-minute exchange.
- With coefficients set at 10 for the general stream and 14 for the technological stream, the Grand Oral is one of the most heavily weighted baccalauréat components.
- The Ministry of Education will adjust these coefficients next year to integrate a new first-year mathematics examination.
