Overview
- Academies published Brevet 2026 results in waves over July 8–10, with the largest group, including Paris, Créteil and Versailles, released on July 10.
- The exam was reworked this year: final grades are on a 20‑point scale, calculated 40% from continuous assessment and 60% from five final tests, and mentions are set by fixed thresholds at 12, 14, 16 and 18 out of 20.
- Candidates can view their full score breakdown on the academy portal Cyclades using personal credentials, while newspapers only list results for students who gave consent to publication.
- Several rectorates provided early local breakdowns of mentions that show high shares of top distinctions in some areas—for example Bordeaux (22% Très Bien), Nice (27% Très Bien), Besançon (21% Très Bien) and Poitiers (22% Très Bien) based on results the rectorates shared with the press.
- Officials and journalists say the full national effect of the new weighting and stricter expectations in French and mathematics is still being evaluated and will determine whether overall pass rates fall compared with recent years.
