Fremont Toddler Tragically Killed in Parking Lot Accident

A 3-year-old girl was struck and killed by a vehicle as the driver pulled out of a parking space, with no signs of impairment involved.

The incident occurred around 11:45 a.m. at Colleen Terrace and Dunsmuir Common in Fremont.
The toddler, identified as Nivisha Yathaluru, unexpectedly moved in front of the vehicle.
Despite immediate life-saving efforts by officers and firefighters, the child died at the scene.
The driver remained on site and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.
This marks the 11th traffic fatality in Fremont this year, with the cause still under investigation.
