Overview
- Officers responded just after 12:20 a.m. Saturday to a parking lot in the 5000 block of Mowry Avenue after a 911 caller reported a shooting and a desire to surrender.
- Police found 93-year-old Richard Hocking standing outside his vehicle and his 86-year-old spouse in the passenger seat, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
- A firearm was recovered from the car, and Hocking was arrested, taken to the Fremont Police Department, and provided a statement that authorities have not detailed.
- He was booked into Santa Rita Jail on suspicion of murder with a gun-related enhancement, is being held without bail, and is scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday.
