Free-Solo Climber Dies After 500-Foot Fall in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park

  • A 26-year-old woman from Boulder, Colorado died while free-solo climbing in Rocky Mountain National Park.
  • She fell 500 feet while climbing the Four Aces of Blitzen Ridge on Ypsilon Mountain.
  • Her climbing partner called park rangers after the fall and was rescued.
  • Search and rescue teams recovered the woman's body which was transported to the county coroner.
  • This was the second death in the park this month from falls during recreational activities.
