- Provincial representatives told Fredericton councillors a site has been identified and funding secured for ultra–low-barrier transitional housing, with the first 28 units planned and a goal of 200 by 2029.

- Bathurst police reported a Sept. 23 search of a Belle-Baie camping trailer that yielded cocaine, crack, prescription pills, cash and a utility trailer stolen in August; a 53-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman were arrested and released to appear in court.
- In Moncton, Aubrey Morton, 31, was deemed fit after a psychiatric assessment, and his bail hearing on weapon and threat charges was adjourned to Oct. 7 after he refused to appear.
