Overview

  • In the bottom of the sixth inning, Freeman was struck on the left wrist by an inside sinker from pitcher Jose Quintana and left the field immediately.
  • Medical staff initially diagnosed a left wrist contusion and have scheduled imaging to assess the injury’s severity.
  • This contusion is the latest setback following a September ankle sprain that led to December surgery and early-season rib discomfort.
  • Los Angeles previously managed Freeman’s workload after he slipped in a shower in March, which aggravated his ankle and cost him nine games.
  • Freeman is batting .292 with 10 home runs and 49 RBIs in 86 games this season while maintaining a .300 career average.
