Overview

• Gruppo FS is investing over €1.3 billion for 36 trains, with an option for 10 more and deliveries averaging about ten per year through 2029.
• Designed by Hitachi Rail and manufactured in Italy at Pistoia and Naples, the train retains the current exterior while overhauling onboard systems and interiors.
• The new generation runs at up to 300 km/h and is homologated for 360 km/h, with upgraded traction and electric motors to reduce energy use.
• FS reports a recyclability rate of 97.1% and material recovery of 98.2%, both higher than the previous generation.
• The fleet is qualified for seven European networks, with three units planned to enter service in Spain in 2026.
