Overview
- Holly Taylor, 33, of South Shields, was bitten on the cheek by her five-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Splodge, in March.
- She described weeks of swelling, stitches and distress that left her avoiding mirrors and social situations.
- Under consultant dermatologist Dr Ophelia Veraitch, she completed four Fraxel sessions and reported rapid improvements in redness, texture and overall skin quality.
- Fraxel sessions cost about £800 each and create microscopic treatment zones that stimulate collagen remodelling, the doctor said.
- The dog was euthanised the next morning after vets warned that sudden unexplained aggression can indicate serious illness such as a tumour or brain bleed.
